Bridal Party Outfit Planning: ASOS Bridal Collection and iROCK Jewellery Custom Earrings
Having a bridal party for your wedding? Or perhaps you’ve been asked to be a bridesmaid? What a special experience to share with your best girl friends!
In this post I want to talk about outfitting the bridesmaids. This can be tricky – if you’ve ever been one, or had them, you’ll know what I mean. That old ‘too many cooks spoil the broth’ saying, well with more people involved in the decision making process how do you please everyone?
Everyone is different – body shape, colouring, hair style and personal taste all adds to the complexity.
Most brides and bridesmaids are looking for something that fits the wedding theme, looks good on all the bridesmaids, isn’t too expensive, and can be worn again – not too much to ask, is it?
Luckily these days you have a lot of options, with online shopping so affordable and accessible, you have a lot to choose from. But that can make it overwhelming too.
Recently, I came across ASOS’ new Wedding Shop and I was so excited. I wish this had been around when I got married. It has a bridal as well as bridesmaid outfits, and in true ASOS style there is a great range to suit all body types (even a maternity range), and all budgets - so it ticks all the boxes.
You can check out the bridesmaid shop here.
You can search by colour, style, or price, which makes it a bit easier when searching and less overwhelming. I particularly like the fact that they make different styles in the same fabric, and have a lot of co-ordinating colours and patterns, with makes fitting out different body shapes and styles much easier.
TREND ALERT: MISMATCHED BRIDESMAID DRESSES
A current trend is to go for co-ordinated rather than matching bridesmaids dresses. It's a bit more relaxed, and makes it easier to outfit all the bridesmaids. You simply set a theme and let the bridesmaids choose their own – less work, less worry. Try ‘peach tones’, ‘pastels & tulle’ or ‘aumtumnal lace’ like these couples did.
I would also recommend checking out the ASOS wedding guest shop for more on-trend pieces and bold colours/patterns. Not everyone wants the traditional bridesmaid look after all.
So the dress (or alternative) is half the battle – then you’ve got accessories to worry about. Shoes, bags, jewellery… ASOS has included all these for you.
But if you want something a bit more special – perhaps you’re giving your bridesmaids a gift for being a part of your special day, or you’re after something unique and personal, you could consider getting custom jewellery.
With iROCK Jewellery, you can create unique luxury fashion jewellery that will compliment your wedding theme and the bridesmaid outfits perfectly. And it’s quick, easy and affordable.
I often recommend earrings for bridal parties as they don’t need to match a neckline. Cocktail rings are also good, but can get caught on fabric, etc. As an example I’ve created some earrings using our online design tool to style with my favourite ASOS bridal party looks for 2016 below.
I’d love to know what you think. Do you like what I’ve designed, or would you design something different? That’s the fun thing about fashion, it’s personal taste.
